Milanese Lace
April, 2007, I just finished making this hummingbird following Louise Colgan’s DVD. Next week I will be taking another class with her, so I wanted to make something quick and easy as a refresher in Milanese lace.

Later I took another class with Louise Colgan and made this butterfly.
I enjoyed making Milanese Lace so much that I continued by working through some of the lessons in the book by Sandi Woods, Special Effects in Bobbin Lace.
Below is a picture of the very first Milanese piece I tried to make. This was actually the first lace I ever made without the help from a teacher. All I had was a picture of the finished lace, so I fumbled my way through.
